Who we are
The Day 0 Project was created for patients, caregivers, and families navigating stem cell transplant — and the long, uncertain road that follows.
This isn’t just a project-it’s personal.
We’re living it-every part of it, every day.
Day 0 is the moment donor cells are infused-the beginning of hope, risk and recovery. What comes after is rarely linear. It can be overwhelming, isolating, and deeply personal.
After going through this journey with my wife Gayle, we saw what missing-not medical care, but real support for everything that comes after.
The Day 0 project exists to offer connection, clarity, and shared experience during a time when answers are limited, and support often feels fragmented.
We are not a medical organization. We do not replace doctors or treatment plans. We exist alongside them — to support the human side of transplant that often goes unspoken.
This is about helping people get through the hardest part-and reminding them they’re not alone.
Day 0 is not the end of treatment. It’s the beginning of what comes next.
